Advice

Hello Everyone,

Today's topic is that how I can improve Baruch College by suing new media.
I do not really know about Baruch College... but there is one great program that some famous universities have already carried on.

I would recommend that Open Course Ware (OCW) which is "Free" online materials of entire courses by select universities. This system provides students a free digital publication with high quality educational materials. Some universities adopt this service such as MIT, UC Berkeley, Harvard, and so on. This is not only in the U.S but also in Europe, Asia, and Middle East.
I came from Japan and this system is well-known by many big universities, both private and public universities.

The great target would be self-learners to manage their study and work. Unfortunately, if you complete the course, you will not be able to receive a formal credit at the university that you participate. The theme of OCW is not to provide credit for free, but to provide an opportunity to receive college-level education. However, this is still an attractive attitude for many learners.

Baruch College is well-known as a good business school in NYC. Therefore, they may be able to provide some business classes via OCW. Many students and adults who do not have a degree want to get into business school, and this would be one of the great promotion to let more people know about the academic program at Baruch College and let them be more interested in the College.

I am not sure that this is a good advice... but I am definitely interested in OCW program and many people may desire this course at Baruch College!

  2. I wanted to attend Baruch to study business. If I had ended up there, OCW sounds like an excellent idea. I enjoy taking online courses, and if they were free it would definitely be convenient and easily accessible for the winter or summer. We should suggest that to our school, too!

    1. Thank you for your comment, Sarah. I think that many students wants to attend other school's programs too. It is very flexible to fit students' schedules, and it is accessible to attend classes even students live in a different state or country.

  3. The OCW program sounds very interesting. I think this would be very beneficial to the students as they do not have to spend hundreds of dollars on textbooks! Get on this, Brooklyn College
